3 Key Components for an Effective Morning Routine for Self-Starters That Will Increase Your Salary
(Without a $10,000 Cold Plunge)
AH yes. What another beautiful 4:30 a.m. wake-up call. The birds have once again arisen my consciousness from a deep slumber and I am forever grateful. I look to my left and see my kettlebells sleeping so peacefully... I immediately take a giant breath and roll over into my wood-crafted stainless steel cold plunge...
Yeah right.
You don't need expensive gadgets or a lot of resources to have a morning routine.
You have the freedom and responsibility to take care of yourself every morning, and I'm going to show you the only tool that you need is a framework.
This is YOUR morning.
Here are 3 key components for creating your own morning routine.
1. Setting aside time for reflection and gratitude
Every morning, I take out my journal, which is actually a giant sketch board for artists. Even though my handwriting is indecipherable and often splatters all over the page, it works out well for me.
In my journal, I jot down 3-5 moments that I'm grateful for. I also write about my passions, the amazing people in my life, and how I can share this world with them. I describe all of the amazing experiences, from playing tennis to drinking coffee, which serves as a reminder of my gratitude.
This practice engages my subconscious and reminds me of how wonderful life can be.

2. Engaging in physical activity or exercise
As part of my morning routine, I like to get my body moving. After a night's sleep, I feel like the epitome of what metal is. I feel like old grandma...
This is where movement comes in.
Our bodies tend to be stiff and our connective tissues and fascia can be bundled up from sleeping. To loosen up, I like to do some yoga-style movements.
I start with a forward fold, bending one knee at a time and trying to touch my toes. Then, I move into a deep squat and alternate between the two positions. To fully stretch my body, I perform downward to upward dog a few times, which helps to open up both the front and back of my body.
Looking at my body from an esoteric perspective allows me to access the "passenger within" which is me. I feel more grounded and connected with the world when I am in tune with my body.
I recommend practicing 10 minutes of yoga and mobility movements daily. This will help you start the day kicking butt and feeling loose.
3. Prioritizing personal development activities such as reading or journaling
Reading is badass. Too bad in high school they gave us shit books to read because it truly became one of my favorite hobbies. I also enjoy being an award-winning blogger...
I read every day as it exercises my brain, opens up new perspectives, and inspires me. It improves my communication skills and sets a positive tone for the day. It encourages me to learn more and become a better version of myself.
Set the timer. 5 minutes of a book that makes you want to run through a brick wall and save a child from a fire. GO
Try this framework out tomorrow morning. you can insert any activity that you like within these three ideas. See how you feel and take note. Love you
