It’s Blackout Wednesday. Don’t Wake Up Hating Yourself.
A former rave DJ’s hangover-proof playbook.
It’s Blackout Wednesday, and half my friends are already planning to “take it easy” — which we all know means the opposite.
I used to DJ raves. I’ve had one too many nights where I woke up tasting tequila and regret.
Now? I go out, have fun, dance hard — and wake up feeling like a functioning human.
Here’s the exact play:
1) Electrolytes Before & After
Alcohol dehydrates you.
Dehydration = headache + fatigue + nausea.
One scoop before you go out, and one when you get home.
I use Kaizen or Goodonya electrolytes — no sugar bombs.
No electrolytes?
Sea salt + lemon + water = better than nothing.
2) Never Drink on an Empty Stomach
Protein + healthy fat slows alcohol absorption and keeps you steady.
Favorite simple anti-hangover meal:
Ingredients (4 items):
2–3 scrambled eggs
1 avocado
Sea salt
Water with lemon + a pinch of salt
Why it works:
Eggs → cysteine → helps clear alcohol toxins
Avocado → healthy fats + potassium → calmer nervous system
Lemon + salt → hydration → no headache
How to do it:
Scramble eggs → slice avocado → salt everything → hydrate → survive.
Time: 5 minutes. Effort: bare minimum.
3) Choose Clear Liquor
Dark liquor = more congeners (aka worse hangovers).
Less sugar = less liver stress.
Top choices:
Mezcal / tequila
Vodka
Gin
Worst offenders:
Whiskey
Bourbon
Rum
If someone orders a Long Island… mthey do not love themselves.
4) SMT: Spirits + Mineral Water + Twist of Citrus
Hydration + low sugar = way less hangover.
Swap sodas and juice mixers for sparkling mineral water + lime.
Pro move: add a dash of bitters
→ supports digestion + liver enzymes
→ makes your drink taste speakeasy-level premium
Your 8 a.m. self will send gratitude.
5) DHM Before Bed
Alcohol turns into acetaldehyde — the chemical behind nausea and regret.
DHM (dihydromyricetin) helps your liver clear it faster.
I swear by Complete Liver Complex from LVLUP Health — DHM + extra liver support.
Result:
Less nausea. Less brain fog. Less “I’m never drinking again.”
6) Stop Two Drinks Before You Think You Should
Your brain cannot judge alcohol while on alcohol.
Call the Uber while you’re still the main character.
Pro move: one slow breath before every new drink → better intuition.
Party smart. Recover strong. Feel alive tomorrow.
Because the goal isn’t to avoid the night — it’s to win the morning.
Have a great blackout Wednesday.

Stay up one hour after your last drink. Watch TV, your phone, whatever. Just don't go to sleep right away. Try to stay sitting up, don't lay down.
One large glass of water before going to bed, one full glass immediately on waking up.
Make sure you can get at least 6 hours of sleep, better with 8 hours. You don't want to try 4 hours or less, because that means you are waking up still drunk. Avoid that at all costs.
Coffee.
The greasiest high protein breakfast you can make. Eggs and pan sausage are my go-to. Stuff yourself. Don't go light. At least three eggs with sausage to match. Salt and pepper.
5 hour energy drink. And more water.
Physical labor. Go mow the yard. Sweat it out.
Years of experience in deriving the above information.
