The Post
It was the night of the biggest dj show of my life.
I was going to play for a crowd of 500 people at Dallas Market Hall in less than an hour. Anxiety had me pacing back and forth in my dorm room, questioning if I was ready for this moment.
Through a leap of desperation, I pulled up YouTube and searched for something like “tips for social anxiety.” Then, I stumbled upon a video by Certified Health Nut - this holistic health coach guy with a big white beard, a glistening man bun and surfside abs.
Moments later, while everyone else was ripping beer bongs downstairs, I was doing some crazy nasal breathing with this dude on YouTube shouting, “Breathe, motherfucker!” through the screen.
That night, everything changed. For the first time in a long time, my mind cleared, my blood started flowing, and I finally felt calm. I went out, talked to people, and enjoyed the night. That was the moment my first experience with biohacking.
Here are the first five hacks that I started with:
Gratitude Journaling
Sleep
Eat like your ancestors
Realigning hormones
Biohacking my belief system
P.S. Breathwork will be in part 2!
Gratitude Journaling
I used to have social anxiety.
To practice not being so weird, I would force myself to say hi to people in the elevator.
Elevators are usually super awkward, so I would say something random like “hey nice shoes” or “woah! you getting back from class?” And then they would respond sometimes, good things, sometimes just ignore me.
But after every conversation, I wrote down how grateful I was for it.
The more I did that, the more my social anxiety faded away. The elevator rides started turning into one conversation, and then two and, then the next thing you know I got the whole elevator laughing at my jokes.
Gratitude helped me rewire my brain to burst out of negative thought patterns and have the confidence to speak to people.
The more in life you are grateful for, the more gifts you will receive.
Even if life is hard, gratitude can help you through it.
What’s even cooler is that their is science can back this up.
I recently had
on my podcast, and we discussed all of the awesome benefits with gratitude. Not only does it help modulate pain and stress, but it activates Dopamine and Serotonin to make us feel good. I also learned how gratitude is like an exercise. “The more we practice it, the easier it is for us to find things we are grateful for.” - Tanmeet Sethi, MD
Increases our self-esteem
Improves our romantic relationships
Increases your frequency of exercise
Reduces impatience and improves decision-making
Helps people recover from substance misuse
I highly recommend writing down one thing you're grateful for each day. Whether its the blue sky, your cup of coffee, or your amazing life. Keep working your way up until you're writing 5 things you're grateful for each day. I say 5, but honestly, there are a million things we can be grateful for.
Sleep.
Over the years of accumulating all of this biohacker knowledge I bought a lot of stuff. And most of it was in my bedroom. Under my sheets, I have water tubes that circulates 63-degree cool water to help me achieve deep sleep. I also have a grounded mat above those tubes. Right next to my bed I have my red light glasses, some mouth tape and hypoallergenic nose strips. Right before bed, I take my sleep cocktail, which includes magnesium, GABA, L-theanine, and melatonin. I also wear my quantum-charged pendant to ward off negative energy and emf.
I started all of this sleep hacking because I wanted to wake up a feel like a new person.
It’s also so I didn’t have to feel pain and fatigue all the time. Once I locked in my sleep routine, I became like a superhero.
I also understand I'm doing the healthiest thing for my body, I'm reducing my chance of chronic disease, clearing my brain of amyloid plaque, burning fat, and activating growth hormone to get boundless energy and longevity
Here are my 11 principles for the best night of sleep:
Stick to a consistent sleep schedule, Ex: 10:00 pm to 5:30 am.
Turn off LED lights after sunset (8pm ish) and use red light or incandescent.
Cool your bedroom to 65°F to lower your body temperature. Huge sleep hack.
Avoid tech for an hour before bed; instead, read or talk with a loved one.
Take GABA+L-Theanine (Kion Sleep) 45 minutes before bed. If you like.
Switch off your Wi-Fi router at night to turn off harmful EMF.
Finish dinner 2-5 hours before bedtime.
Don't crush a hard exercise right before bed. Stop working out 2 hours before.
Stop caffeine intake 10 hours before sleep.
Use blackout curtains and a blackout eye mask
Red light glasses 3 hours before bed.
Eat like your ancestors
I have a lot of weird stuff in my fridge. From the heart of a venison to methylene blue eye drops, ketones, global artichoke, probably some walnut butter and some fine ass organic wine.
Why on earth am I eating this. Am I mad. Well. Yes. But I understand why your confused.
One day we're supposed to be carnivores, the next day, vegans.
One day we're eating almonds, the next day, they're bad.
I tried the carnivore diet for about 4 weeks. It was a total disaster, both figuratively and literally.
I recall just walking around, praying that the fart I was about to rip was just a fart and not me shitting myself.
When you don't eat any fibers or plants, or starch, but consume a lot of meat, it seems like your body can't handle it, and it just wants to explode in the toilet.
That's what happened - I'd go to the bathroom and it would be straight liquid, nothing more, nothing less.
So what should we eat? Eat like your ancestors.
They weren't eating plain chicken breast and dry salad.
They weren't worried about collagen peptides in their latte, or tracking their "macros" on MyFitness Pal.
They ate whole, nutrient-dense, toxin-free foods.
Based on evidence from books like Deep Nutrition and Primal Body, Primal Mind our ancestors ate:
Predominantly wild and pasture-raised meats such as elk, venison, and woolly mammoth.
A significant amount of animal fat.
Wild vegetables.
Tart, bitter fruit when seasonally available.
Nuts and seeds, with very few tubers due to their toxicity at that time.
Possibly some olive oil and coconut oil.
What our ancestors did not eat:
Ultra-processed foods.
Fritos, Doritos, and NACHO cheese.
Wheat bread, white bread, or rye bread.
Processed dairy, oat milk lattes, and soybean protein (shoutout to my soy boys).
Seed oils (canola, sunflower, soybean).
Candy, chips, soda, etc.
My favorite site to find the best pastured-raised meats, eggs, and raw dairy is Frankies Free Range Meats.
Personally, I love raw dairy. I started slowly to avoid stomach issues and recommend supplementing with digestive enzymes for better absorption.
Re-Align your hormones
It was my senior year in college, and I had a lot on my plate. I had to find a job, graduate, build my dog training business, while at the same time working to make this company. I was also DJing house music clubs a couple of nights a week. Work-life balance wasn't my thing.
At first, I had great energy and was getting a lot done. My podcast was gaining traction, and I was close to landing a job at a Fortune 500 company. I was also making a name for myself in the Dallas DJ scene and getting huge gigs.
But then I crashed.
I spent 48 hours in the ER. The doctors didn't know what was wrong. My girlfriend had to carry me to the hospital, where I was in a state of delirium. They put me in a wheelchair and rushed me to the emergency room.
Long story short, I burned myself out. The doctor said my nervous system couldn't keep up with my hectic lifestyle, and it completely shut down. I also had the testosterone levels of an 80-year-old man (200ng/dl), with crazy brain fog, lack of motivation, and zero sex drive.
After two nights in the hospital and two weeks of zero energy, I had to rethink everything. I threw away every single supplement, cut off certain friends, and thought about my life. I had to come up with new strategies to get my life back together, and it started with getting my testosterone up.
Here's how I increased it from 200ng/dl to 900ng/dl:
Utilize cleaning and cosmetic products that are free of toxins and xenoestrogens.
Synchronize your circadian rhythm by waking up and going to bed early.
Engage in daily physical activity and lift heavy weights twice a week.
Aim for seven hours of quality sleep each night.
Spend more time outdoors, enjoying forest walks or beach visits.
Practice morning breathwork sessions to enhance focus.
Discover and pursue your life’s purpose.
Biohack your belief system
Believing in something really helped me see love all the love in my life.
It also helped me feel less anxiety about the future.
It was no longer like I gotta do this earth stuff myself, ah shit.
It was like hey, we're going through this life, and God’s got your back. Even if we stumble, we’re being carried by angels.
I say God, but it can also be the universe, Gaia, or anything larger than yourself.
God has given me a purpose in life: to bring joy to others. Now, anyone I meet receives my full attention, and everything I do, I will give my all because who knows what will happen next?
All I know is that I have something helping me along the way. Maybe it's in the sky, in the ground, a bug, or a plant; regardless, I’m loved.
When life gets tough, you need something to guide you through. Believing in a higher source - God, Gaia, or whatever works for you - can be a lifesaver. You can hand over your problems to it, dream about the future, and feel less stressed knowing everything will be alright. You've got a safety net.
Here's how I Biohacked my belief system.
Say, thank you more often - to the sky, to the dog, to everything around you.
Write down 5 things you are grateful for.
Picture being embraced and comforted; you are not alone!
Try fasting for 24 hours.
Create a vision board to visualize your dreams and goals.
Reflect on your day each night and say a prayer before sleeping.
So there it is. How biohacking changed my life. These pillars have changed my life in immeasurable ways, and they will do the same for you.
I wanna know , have you done biohacking? What is your favorite biohack? It's my absolute pleasure to bring you this article.
Remember to keep on breathing and living life. Forget the past, remember the present, and look forward to the future.
With love,
Jack.

Disclaimer. I am not a doctor. This is just some random stuff I learned on the internet. Pretend it’s a story. Ok bye.

AWWWW! LOVE THIS. You look like such a happy bumble bee🌞
I love reading about your biohacks, especially the sleep hacks. Back in the day, I used to get 4 or 5 hours a night, but I didn’t understand how important sleep is. Since then I’ve spent a lot of time on the sleep hygiene. Now I manage seven hours a night and it’s been a game changer!
For me, the nose strips have done wonders. I tried the mouth tape too and it tends to wake me up after about 3 hours.
I’m definitely interested in the blue blocking glasses for evening use- it’s on my wish list
